Austin's Blessing Day

Austin was blessed on Sunday, December the 7th. It was a lovely day. We got an adorable white outfit with a vest for him to wear and we wrapped him in a hand-made blanket woven by Grandpa Bailey's friend at work. Austin was sooo precious. For more pictures, view my kodak gallery: Austin's Pictures

He was blessed by his father. In the circle was Grandpa Walters, Uncle Doug, Uncle Vernon, and cousin Blake, oh and Bishop of course. We were very lucky Austin wasn't sick because his mom and dad have both been under the weather. Other than that, things have been going well over here. On Monday Austin had his very first real laugh. Daddy was playing with his feet and Austin was smiling and laughing at him.

He's also become quite the chatterbox the past two days. As we have held him he would start talking back and forth with us. He'll say "oh" and I'll say "oh" back and it would go back and forth for minutes at a time. It was SO funny!! We got a small clip of it on the camera.

Happy Thanksgiving Day

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! We had a wonderful time at Aaron's parents house. There was turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, dinner rolls, and lots of pie. We set up their Christmas tree and listened to Christmas music. We even went to go see a movie- Twilight. It was lots of fun. I really miss our GA thanksgivings. I hope it went well down there. I send you all my love.

Austin was talking up a storm all day. He was smiling and squirming. We even caught some of it on camera below.

Well Christmas approaches. Our tree is up and the presents are wrapped an under the tree. On Monday we went to get a family portrait taken. We put Austin in a cute little vest and khakis. We got one smile out of him the whole session and got lucky enough to catch it on camera. We'll be getting the prints in a couple of weeks.

Christmas time Approaches

Well yesterday Aaron and I went shopping for our very first Christmas tree! Walking down the isles and isles of Christmas decor at our local Wal-mart has gotten me in the holiday spirit. We bought a 6 foot pre-lit tree, a tree skirt, wrapping paper, bows, to/from stickers, and various ornaments. They had their Christmas trees decorated and I was especially drawn to the ribbon look instead of the traditional star or angel at the top so I bought some ribbon and tried my hand and making a bow. It's very rough around the edges. I am no aunt ReRe when it comes to things like that, but hopefully when it's all set up it will look better. I am really wanting to put the tree up now, but to stick with family tradition I am waiting until Thanksgiving day. Once it's all up we'll be taking pictures for all to see.

Austin slept the entire time we were out. He's getting bigger and bigger. His cheeks are fat and his little wrists are developing lines where his fat overlaps. He's around 11 and half pounds or so. Judging by the fact that he seems hungry more often, we think he's hit a growth spurt. This makes trying to find something for him to wear for his blessing day even harder. What size is he going to be 3 weeks from now? Speaking of blessing day, anyone who can come to our ward meeting that day is welcome to watch. Austin will be blessed by his father the first Sunday of the month of December at the Jadwin building. The meeting starts at 11am.

Here's a video of him that we took on Sunday.

Aaron's Birthday Surprise

Well as many of you know November the 6th was my birthday. November 11th is also my dad's birthday. So we had a get together Sunday to celebrate both birthdays. There were a few gifts that were passed out. Mostly my dad got clothes although we got him some chocolates since he always enjoys those. I got some new movies and Indiana Jones Legos video game. Although the biggest surprise was the gift that was given from my parents. They gave me a new digital video recorder. Which we are excited about since it will allow us to record the happy times we have with Austin and be able to show them to those who are not able to see him. So we wanted to test it all out and see how it works. So here is a short clip that we just took while he was being happy and content. We hope everyone is able to enjoy it and that we will be able to use it in the future to show and record Austin's growth as well as our own progression. We love you all and hope you enjoy the short video. Love Aaron.

Baby Austin has Arrived!!

So after a long pregnancy, 12 hours of labor, and a surprise C-Section, our little bundle of joy has arrived! Austin Nicholas Walters came at 8:44 am on October 4th, 2008 at the Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, Washington. Alicia, my sister, is soooo excited that he was born on her birthday. He weighed in at 7 pounds, 10 ounces and he was 20 inches long.

Surprisingly, he has lighter colored hair and blue eyes. Mommy is so happy he has her blue eyes! He's a great eater and is gaining weight fast. At one month he is over 9 pounds already!

We were sooo excited that Grandma Sarah and Great-Grandma Valma could some see him all the way out here in Washington State. We can't wait to show him off to Grandpa Jeff, we really miss him.

Grandma Verla, Grandpa Nick, and Aunt Amber were there to see him too!
I can't believe he's already over a month old. Austin has been quite the feisty little kid. He's very strong and was born able to hold his head up on his own. No wonder Mommy was so uncomfortable with him kicking and moving his head around when she was pregnant!

Austin's favorite things to do are eat, sleep, and play with Mommy and daddy. He especially likes Daddy's choochoo game (when daddy works his legs to the sound of a train). Occasionally he'll let us put him in his swing but only when he's in a good mood. Mom and dad have been losing sleep but he's worth it! So far, he has had lots of hiccups, smiles, and just last night starting saying "ma" when he cries! All on accident of course, but it's fun to see it all the same.

He's sleeping better now to the great relief of Mommy. Last night he slept from 11 to 4am. It was great! He even went back to sleep after he was fed and I got a wonderful nap.

So far, we've been to Church, been to McDonald's, and taken a few walks. He always likes looking around so we went for a little walk yesterday around the apartment complex. I put him in the baby carrier which straps to me and holds him close. The trees were gorgeous and golden. It was a bit chilly so we bundled him up, and he was asleep in no time. I'm so glad to have him in my life.
